As Flotilla Massacre Reverberates Around the World, The Indypendent Looks Back

Americans woke up this morning to the shocking news that the Israeli Navy killed up to 19 Palestine solidarity activists on board a flotilla of ships trying to break the crippling blockade of the Gaza Strip. The attack on the “Freedom Flotilla,” which was carrying 10,000 tons of aid to Gaza, including wheelchairs, school supplies, and construction materials that Israel has banned from entering the besieged coastal stip, also injured dozens of people.
Grassroots reaction has been swift and angry, with protesters around the world taking to the streets, including in Israel and around the occupied Palestinian territories. Israeli ambassadors have been summoned in many countries, and governments around the world have condemned the Israeli attack. Greece has canceled military exercises with Israel.
The Indypendent will be covering the aftermath of the flotilla massacre, with blog posts throughout the day and coverage of a planned 3 PM protest in New York City’s Times Square.
But in the meantime, check out The Indypendent’s extensive coverage of Israel-Palestine below from the past couple of years:
