Friday marks the start of the citywide Workers Unite! Film Festival. Now in its sixth year, the festival features films from New York and around the world that spotlight the struggles, successes and daily lives of workers in their efforts to organize for better living conditions and social justice. Films this year cover everything from #BlackLivesMatter to #NoDAPL, Karl Marx toEugene Debbs. There will be a special activist filmmaker boot camp and, on opening night, James Franco, Selena Gomez, Ed Harris and Bryan Cranston will be on hand to discuss their new film, In Dubious Battle.
