#StopTheParade Draws Aggressive Police Response (Video)

Police pulled out batons and used metal barricades during the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade to disrupt a protest demanding justice for the police killing of unarmed black teenager Michael Brown. This week, a grand jury decided not to indict the white police officer who killed Brown in Ferguson, Missouri this summer, sparking protests in Ferguson and cities across the country. The protestors on Thursday tried to be visible at the parade, which drew 22.6 million television viewers, in an effort keep media attention on the issue of police violence. Protestors as the Thanksgiving day parade also held pictures of Eric Garner, who was killed by a police chokehold in Staten Island this summer. The protest was a top trending topic on Twitter under the hashtage #StopTheParade. The NYPD reportedly arrested seven protestors. Check out the video below.
