Across the country, protestors filled the streets after another grand jury failed to indict a police officer for the killing of an unarmed black man. This time, the case was related to Eric Garner, whose death by a police chokehold in Staten Island this summer was ruled a homicide by the New York City Medical Examiner. Yesterday, a grand jury in Staten Island decided not to indict the police officer who applied the chokehold on Garner. This comes a week after another grand jury in Ferguson, Missouri failed to indict the police officer who shot and killed unarmed black teenager Michael Brown, sparking massive protests across the country.
