
New Yorkers Mark MLK Day with Black Lives Matter Protest (Video)
Thousands of New Yorkers participated in protests against police brutality on Monday, Martin Luther King Day. The police killings this year of unarmed black men Michael Brown, Eric Garner, Tamir Rice and many others made the national holiday about carrying on King’s legacy of peaceful resistance as well as celebrating his life. Hundreds gathered in Harlem, across the street from a banner reading “Black Lives Matter,” before marching down to the United Nations. Check out the video of the Harlem protestors below.
