‘This is a grave site’: March for Akai Gurley (Video)

Hundreds gathered outside the Pink Houses in Brooklyn on Saturday, Dec. 27, to demand justice for the police shooting of 28-year-old Akai Gurley, who was killed while walking into one of the housing project’s staircases and “startling” a rookie cop who was on patrol. The Daily News reported that the officer, Peter Liang, texted his union representative while Gurley lay dying, instead of calling for medical assistance. The protestors, who were joined by Gurley’s family, later marched to the local precinct. Check out the video below.
